Namibia accommodation in an authentic farmstead farmstay
Who are we?
George and Belinda Wessels
George and Belinda farm mainly with cattle and also have a very successful horse stud. Three years ago they started producing charcoal as part of the process to eradicate the local invasive species of bush on the farm.
They look forward to welcoming you to Soetblomspan and treating you to a truly warm and friendly Namibian Farmstay.
About Soetblomspan house
The house was built in 1932 as the main residence for the then farm owner. The Wessel’s family purchased the farm in 1986 and George’s parents stayed in the house for a few years. When they moved out it was used by hunters visiting the farm and the barn was for many years used as the meeting place for the local Farmers Association meetings.
Over the years the house starting falling into ruin, then in 2018 Belinda decided it needed some love and attention, so she began renovations to bring the house back to its former glory. At the time, both her husband and the builders thought she had taken on an almost impossible task.
Building and breaking, additions and carefully selected decor, has brought this old farmstead back to life and it now holds a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Truly a place were you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the farm.
Namibia accommodation in an authentic farmstead, a real experience of a farmstay.
